The week is organised by the FP7 eI-Africa and the EuroAfrica-ICT EU-funded projects with the support of the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. To ensure a higher participation of African key stakeholders in the event a budget has been planned by the organisers to contribute to travel and subsistence expenses for some of the delegates. In addition, donor organisations will be encouraged to sponsor the event and collected sponsorship fees will be primarily used to invite more African delegates to join the event. |

There is no doubt, that Information and Communication Technology, is transforming and empowering Africa, from making telephone calls, texts by small business owners, money transfers to operating software, used by private, public organizations, the challenge however is to identify areas where the Governments ,private sector and Civil Society can engage significantly, implement sustainable e-infrastructures, that can accelerate the economic and social transformation of African Societies.
