The European Commission has recently adopted and released the new Work Programmes for 2011 providing additional details for the implementation of each of the 5 Specific Programmes of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7):

• The Cooperation programme is the core of FP7, representing two thirds of the overall budget. It fosters collaborative research across Europe and other partner countries through projects by transnational consortia of industry and academia
• The Ideas programme aims at reinforcing excellence, dynamism and creativity in European research
• People provides support for researchers mobility and career development for European and international researchers (Marie Curie Actions)
• Capacities enhances research and innovation capacities throughout Europe and ensure their optimal use
• Nuclear research (Euratom) comprise research, technological development, international cooperation, dissemination of technical information, exploitation activities, as well as training.
